Executive Suite N

Many of my peers consider Suite N the boldest interior design work I have ever accomplished and I tend to agree. The original, wrap around, floor to ceiling windows inspired the use of day light colors while balanced with deep, rich wood tones. Like Suite P and Suite T this studio is a marvelous example of the creative, yet resourceful use of living/work space designed and built by Eugene Bennett.

I have frequently imagined this Artist Studio cluttered with canvas, paint, easels.... many pieces in progress, some completed and even more envisioned....while the brush master ponders the wonders of mother nature beyond the wall of light filled windows.

The floor to ceiling wall that once enclosed the 'upstairs' Kitchenette has been replaced with a hand constructed, playfully designed, wooden railing in likeness of Bennett's eminent, three-dimensional, linear style. You will find the cupboards and drawers filled with utensils, kitchen equipment, dishes, glass ware, pots and pans as well as a coffee maker, whole beans and grinder, toaster, microwave oven and blender.

The admittedly small but comfortable bathroom is adjacent to the upstairs kitchenette. The new shower stall is hidden from view by slatted, wooden, shutter-style doors while the hand painted side wall introduces the creative talents of a budding, young artist.

The downstairs, ground level, living space is swathed in natural light inviting the outside, inside. Yet, the reverse reaction has also been experienced, challenging the isolated spirit inside, outside. The swirling, hand plastered, lofty, ten foot ceiling incites a sense of spaciousness while the soothing dark wood floor invokes a feeling of balance and harmony.

The wall to wall "California Sliders" open to a communal canopy covered patio where you may enjoy a lively water feature, herb garden, wild birds and an impression of generous solitude.

Grape Street Gardens convenient downtown location is a comfortable walk to the many eateries and evening entertainment found in Medford's growing, metropolitan neighborhood.
